@johnadamsyt The area it “stole” was part of the China we know now. “China” in itself used to be made up of a hundred thousand different city states. It is still “China”. And China has been around since 221BC when Emperor Qin first united all the city states, before it fell back into turmoil after his reign. The Han dynasty didn’t reunite it till about 202BC. Anyway, if we all followed your logic, then every single custom in the modern world is “stolen”.

@garyojlai It was not developed in China, the area where it originated from was not called China at the time. It only became part of China in the past few hundred yrs when the Han Chinese stole that land. It’s like saying now that if England took over China, so we start calling this new yr, English New Year, Nonsense.

@johnadamsyt ~sigh~ I’m not denying the fact that the new year is celebrated by many different cultures. The fact is that it’s understood it’s the Spring festival aka Chinese New Year aka Lunar New Year – all based off the lunisolar calendar developed by Ancient China. And the proof is in the pudding – look it up yourself on google, or go to your local library. It’s written everywhere and is not a debated matter amongst historians.

@garyojlai Of course your grandparents are gonna say that China invented this new yr, obviously because they are Chinese. When someone steals something, they don’t say they stole it, they say it is originally theirs. The fact is, this new yr is celebrated by many different cultures, not just the Chinese, it is called “Lunar New Year”.

@garyojlai You still have not shown me an evidence, just false claims.

@johnadamsyt It is not a lunar year because the Chinese New Year is based off the movements of the sun and the moon. And since there is no “new year” as that, it is known as Chinese New Year. Get your facts straight before you say anything you dimshit.

@johnadamsyt @johnadamsyt …. to the lunisolar calendar developed in Ancient times.

As for proof, 1) I’m Chinese and I’d like to say I know a bit about my history since my grandparents love to tell me. 2) if I could copy links, I would, but I’m sure if you google “history of Chinese New Year” you’d figure it out.

@johnadamsyt Also incorrect – the word “China” is used loosely, it is understood that China’s history is divded into two parts, Ancient China, and China. Ancient China history dates back a few dynasties to when “China” was just in tribes. As for the tradition – It is more accurately referred to as the Spring Festival – simply changed because of the inaccuracies in Western translation. It actually goes back several hundred years to an untraceable date in China’s history….

@garyojlai Show me your evidence that this new year originated from China? The word China, has only been in existence for less than 100yrs. This tradition spans 1000s of years,

@johnadamsyt Incorrect – it is also REFERRED to as the Lunar New Year and Spring Festival. But its origins are very humbly from the Chinese Lunisolar calendar. Also why the Chinese New Year ushers in the Chinese Animal corresponding to the year.

i wonder if they can maek a jill dance? :P

@MermaidGirlMe
Most people here are gonna be -_-

There is no such thing as Chinese new year. It is called “LUNAR NEW YEAR”.

this dance is so hard. requires so much energy. amazing!

@TheChampnick2 It’s actually not technically a ‘kids song’. Kids do sing it, it’s a very famous Chinese New Year song, it’s actually my favorite song in Chinese! ‘Gong xi gong xi’ means ‘Congratulations congratulations” :)

probaly a kids song. Thumbs up if you are only watching this vid because Mark Zuckerberk on facebook posted that it was awesome

2008 was different from 2009…

@NewLeatherface

…Is there a class system in China?
Is China a state?

If “yes” is the answer to either of these questions, China is not communist.

i love this songgggggggggggggggggg !!!11!11!11#1 song

China is not a communist country anymore. They are mix government. If they were communist then why are there career choice and buisness men owning companies and factories in china.

Too bad China is like the Asshole of the world, with their communistic, non existent government. lol They’re like Iraq. Maybe worse.

Fuck china and its Communist ways .

@GothicKnight2 Ok now I am confused…

@TheZortaw
You do know that the Communist China is undergoing reformations?

@navpec
Red is the symbol of Lenin the founder of the Communist party in Russia. Red is a symbol of good luck in China and is also the color of the Chinese Communist Party.

共產黨封鎖youtube耶

I like the song, but whoever sings that has the most annoying voice I’ve ever heard lol. I’m Chinese too btw.

Gong xi gong xi!

@ComradeRed2020 Actually not really. Although the USSR and China were both Communist they never were allies. In fact, their ideas of Communism were different and they were in conflict with each other because of this. Yes, I’m a history major.

happy new year, good for china! now its time to adjust the monetary rate and play fair!!!
